A letter of Introduction

Dear colleagues,

The purpose of this letter is to introduce myself and this blog.

I am writing this blog within the course English for Academic Purposes that I am currently following at university of CAECE within a distance learning programme of studies. As regards my education, I am  a teacher of English graduated at Juan XXIII (tertiary level college) in Bahia Blanca.

As for my experience, I have always worked in the city of Bahia Blanca at different institutions. So far, I have worked for Asociación Bahiense de Cultura Inglesa (A.B. C.I.http://www.abci.org.ar/), Centro de Idiomas UTN http://www.frbb.utn.edu.ar/home/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=85&Itemid=419 and at local state schools (number 12, number 311). Besides, I have been working for two years now in Cerri, which is 25 Km far from Bahia Blanca, at state school number 7.

Here in this blog you will find my passed assignments and reflections on the education field mainly connected to Teaching English as a Second Language, Material Design and ELT Management.

Teaching means the world to me, I really enjoy the teaching-learning interaction with people. During our first class, I mentioned Jacques Rancière´s article "El Maestro Ignorante" because it has been one of the most inspiring philosophical articles I have recently read. If you are interested, follow this link: http://www.centroalerta.cl/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/36-El-Maestro-Ignorante-Ranciere.pdf .

Concerning my expectations, I would be delighted to develop myself as professional by means of sharing ideas, doubts, materials, techniques and papers about the epistemology of our teaching practice.
Mainly, I expect to further my understanding of our subject matter (EFL teaching) while I pursue my own ideas based on eager readings. I have not been able to write academic papers before so I judge this as a golden opportunity.

Look forward to publishing and reading one another!

Welcome!

Carla
